Vice President Trudy Huguet is a Vice President of the Foreign-Trade Zone Corporation. Ms. Huguet joined the FTZ Corporation as Senior Consultant in May 2001. Prior to assuming this position, she held the International Trade Manager position for Sony Corporation. During her 11 years with Sony, she led numerous departments and held various positions, including Logistics Manager, Legal Coordinator, Risk Management, Accounts Receivable Manager, and Financial Analyst, gaining her expertise in multiple business areas. This level of operational business knowledge adds unusual and significant value during the activation and implementation process. Ms. Huguet created Sony’s International Trade Department, and later implemented Sony’s first FTZ operation that stressed compliance and efficiency. Ms. Huguet drove the process to design and create Sony’s in-house FTZ system, which received CBP’s highest compliance approval. Ms. Huguet led the implementation of export compliance software, and she developed and implemented a duty drawback (DDB) system that utilized existing data to capture all qualifying duty for DDB claims.
Ms. Huguet is known for her expertise in manufacturing, processing, distribution, and inventory control. She has assisted various entities through the activation process and the implementation of compliant FTZ inventory control systems and operational procedures, with exceptional success. In addition, she has capitalized on her operational expertise while assisting manufacturing, processing, and distribution Zones with efficient and compliant scrap, waste, and yield loss procedures.
Ms. Huguet is a member of numerous Foreign-Trade Zone groups and associations. She serves as a member of the TSN and has been called on by the NAFTZ to lead various sessions during its annual conference to include the Inventory Control Workshops. She currently serves on the NAFTZ User/Operator and Program Committees and has previously served on its Regulatory, Trade Agreements, and Container Security Committees. |
